Yeah it's obviously somewhat inspired by Houellebecq's book Soumission, where in the near-ish future France has a majority muslim population and ends up electing someone from the Islamist party to president.

They end up severely restricting women's working hours, and everyone is surprised to find that they kinda like it.

Outside of the really controversial premise, it's a great book and is actually more of a character study than a culture war critique. I recommend it!
