Kind of funny that the retort to "yeah, but they they murdered innocent people" is "but they were created for a good cause!". Pretty sure once you start murdering people that any cause you once stood for is irrelevant.

The good cause shit is hilarious, it's text book criminal activity coverup propaganda.

Go look at every single outlaw MC and see how many charity rides or "toys for tots" runs they do.

What annoys me about conversations on this topic is that it's rarely pointed out that the black panthers weren't just an ideologically black nationalist group that was (nominally) dedicated to black empowerment and fighting back against the police. They were ideologically an explicitly communist organization. And not in a hypothetical utopian sense that rejected the authoritarian regimes of the 20th century. They openly praised and supported dictators like Lenin, Stalin, Castro, Mao, Ho Chi Minh, and Kim Il-Sung and their regimes. BPP leaders met with many of these people in displays of solidarity. It shouldn't be hard to see why you didn't have to be a white nationalist or someone who thought black people had nothing to complain about in order to be against the panthers on a purely ideological level, regardless of any debates about their actions.
