Mark Latham (former Labor leader, once a handshake away from leading the country) has started a "feud" with Julia Baird (a news reader).

For those of you who don't follow the antics of Mark-sama ...

Latham was the leader of the left-wing Labor party. A smear campaign suggesting he was a bit of a thug (he once broke a taxi driver's arm during a dispute over the fare), and a widely publicised photo in which he looked a little agressive as he shook the hand of little John Howard (the incumbent Prime Minister) were partly blamed for him losing the election.

He then stepped down to a quiet private life (allegedly smashed the camera of a journalist who tried to ask him why he lost).

He wrote a few books attacking pretty much everyone, then faded from the public eye.

But he keeps sort of drifting back into the frame. His politics have drifted a bit, and he now reminds me a bit of Sargon of Akkad without the tact. His hobbies now include tweeting at the "feminist left elites", and ... well ... that's about it really.

His latest feud is with Julia Baird, a news anchor for the national broadcaster (the ABC - think the BBC without so many original crime dramas).

He was leading the polls until that. Then the whole thing flipped.

Or indeed, without any worthwhile OC at all.

This drama can only end well.

Not anymore they're not. They were unbelievable once upon a time, but now they suck.
