Buzzword is, itself, a buzzword now.

Isn't revisionist history, and putting today's morality on people in the past amazing.

He was an asshole but he's still an old school cool guy.

Honestly I'd say half of mega successful people are assholes yo somebody. People who are driven to greatness are more than willing to trample anyone who gets in their way. If you and most of your peers hesitate, cool, but now you're behind the guy that didn't.

half?

I mean shit, even Saint Obama had his moments. Look at that movie they did about him and his college gf. I'm sure she's gotta be looking back going "that fucking asshole broke up with for being too white"

Can you think of a better way to feel smarter and morally superior to historical figures?

"Churchill? Great? Not greater than me, I post in /r/againsthatesubs!"

"Just wait until you hear how much better I am than Gandhi!"

"He didn't give a shit about the Blacks in South Africa!"

accuse them of trying to be smarter and morally superior than other people. we're all supposed to be equal, don't you know; wouldn't want to hurt any dead people's feelings

It's not revisionist history, it's called presentism.)

Huh thats quite honestly not how studying history works and understanding the point of wars and ideas. Like shite that is not how any of this works.

What's amazing is thinking deliberately induced famines that killed millions as a matter of written policy was considered cool because it was the 40s.

Not being able to come to the aid of a country that has experienced natural disasters is not the same as deliberately inducing a famine.

literally what, the 1940s weren't some backwards ass time where everyone was an idiot.

Little known fact, Churchill was actually black.

He put on white face every day. He was the man who fooled the world.

PRIME MINISTERZ N SHIET

PRIME MINSTRELZ N SHIET

FTFY

smh minority fragility

Churchill was a cunt, sure.

But Bomber Harris should do it again.

Somewhere in Heaven Bomber Harris and Curtis LeMay are shaking their heads at our ineffective pussyfooting around in the Global War on Terror.

But that ho chi minh, now he was a stand-up guy

Psh. That fucker couldn't hold a candle to stalin. Dudes practically commie jesus!

As a descendent of a man who took part in D-Day and a woman who worked as an air-warden during the London blitz, I think you will find it was people like my grandparents who "literally saved Europe", not Winston Churchill.

Winston Churchill was a bit of an arsehole. The results of the 1945 general election kind of indicates that British people at the time (esp. soldiers who voted in high numbers- they set up polling booths in the jungles of Burma where the British army were still fighting the Japanese) didn't think much of him. The subsequent hero-worship of the man is the revisionism here.

Party Parrots would have voted for Clement Attlee.

I hate myself when I accidentally seriouspost here.

It's funny that they will never address the natural disasters that caused the famine, their only fallback is that Churchill should have starved the British people to feed people in India.

pic of a Brit

Can't shut up about frenchs

This is what winning looks like folks.

r/drama has become "Things Leftists say that I dislike". Just waiting for the day when most of you apologize for Pinochet.

Nah, there's just no drama in T_D currently. How about you accuse us for something real, like south park neutrality, or white people nonsense?

That's boring.

It's not our fault yall are retarded.

You going on the internet

Yes it is.

We had a lot of T_D drama a couple of weeks ago, but we can't help it that there's only 1 pro-Trump sub and 20 anti-trump subs.

But Trump being Trump, i'm sure he'll come up with something

Leftists still repeating the nonsensical canard that Churchill deliberately caused the Bengal famine. This BS idea come from a book called The Churchill Factor and some other shitty book.

There are numerous reasons of why the famine happened obviously, but leftists typically leave out the more major reasons for why it happened and places it on Churchill. Like the poor harvest of rice, grains, and other food in 1942 due to an unusually warm summer in India. This was followed up with a hurricane later on in 1942, destroying what crops and stock India managed to have leading up to the famine. I guess leftists think he controls the weather. Following that, their main source of rice and other food imports was cut off when Japan took over Burma.

Another thing they ignore is Japan's exploitation of Bengal at that time. There was a strong fear that Japan would conquer the area because Japan did that very thing to Burma, so things were put in place in an attempt to prevent Japan from taking over. Also, they ignore the Indians themselves hoarding food prior to and during the famine to turn a profit from it. Leftists would never dare to put the most of the blame on the Japanese or the Indians because they aren't white. Doing so would violate their idiotic idea that POC are always the victims and can do no wrong because white privilege.

The main thing Churchill did was not making it a top priority to provide food and supplies aid, but he did make a few minor attempts at alleviating the famine. When aid was provided, the way the aid was delivered was pretty shitty and incompetent. Keep in mind, this was during WW2, so he couldn't just put everything else on hold to help end the famine in India like leftists think.

So, in conclusion to my essay on /r/drama that I don't know why I wrote. Wait, nevermind, I know why, or do I? I'll ponder that later. Anyways, Churchill didn't cause the famine and it wasn't his fault.

The end.

The improvement of the British breed is my aim in life

when the person who is widely regarded to be your greatest countryman was a sexist white supremacist and die-hard imperialist but it's okay because he gave some memorable speeches
