This is a nice post and all, but I'm guessing that the only reason anyone is even arguing about this because these people believe 3D is superior to 2D.
A lot of anime is pretty bad. I'm not a big fan of sexualized children, unnecessary panty-shots, boob jiggling, and incest. Especially since a lot of the last three involves high schoolers. I don't think it's inaccurate to say that these things have become more prevalent in recent years than they have been in the past.
Or is it unreasonable to still like certain things from that medium but be made uncomfortable by the prevalence of those aspects at large?
I'm not sure, but I think the grammar on that is fucked.
There was also a point where there were escalating bot wars. There was a bot that replied to the SRD bot. Then one that replied to that. Very quickly the bots went up to 6 or so in a chain, each attacking the other.
If that drama had happened today, people would have crucified AWSA on SRD. I like to rag on past SRD snd remember it with hate-goggles but it was a lot more rational and less SJW jerky than it is today.
