Personally I think in some other cultures, especially in the US, there is a tendency to "crumble" when tragic events occur, where the citizens go into a scared, paranoid state in the long-term after these events. I assume most countries "keep calm and carry on" when stuff like this happens, but I get the feeling (which may not be true), that people in the US do not often "keep calm and carry on".
