Sure the physical component of domestic abuse is a factor, and arguably a bigger one if the violence is from a man to a woman. But it's ostly the humillation. Getting punched by someone that later says he loves you is NOT the same as getting clocked on the street. Sure if the avarege woman punches the avarege man it won't hurt as much. But if someone hurts you, tells you they love you, you forgive them and then punches you again genders are irrelevant.
Non being abused SHOULD not be political. But for some reason it is. Abortions should be a moral and medical issue, not a political issue, transitioning should be a medical issue, not a political one, racism, homophobia and general sexism should be a non-issue in an ideal world. But they are political. And politically I stand on the side that fights for the things I believe in these issues.
