So former communist Lee Rhiannon (who denies any allegations that she's part of the Left Renewal faction of the already far-left Greens party) got temporarily suspended.
The Greens were negotiating with the center-right Liberals to do some education reform, taking money from rich schools and giving it to poor schools. The center-left Labor party doesn't like it because unions just want more money for education.
Senator Rhiannon campaigned against the "Gonski 2.0" changes, while the rest of her party was trying to reach some kind of deal to get it through the Senate (which is currently hung like a kangaroo's nutsack).
The rest of the party apparently got shat off with it, and is apparently more or less kicking her out (presumably after a few quiet warnings which were presumably ignored).
