Short story: FFXIV servers have limited housing. Mateus had a lot of empty houses and was one of the servers designated as “preferred” for new people and people to transfer to. All the houses on Mateus are now bought up. Turns out some guy (a previous Mateus inhabitant) is the owner of thirty houses. People are upset that he has so many. He’s pissed that people are getting pissed at him .
Worlds a pile of shit and square can't even manage virtual space on a shit game. Is it even that popular? I paid for 3 months play 1 completed everything got bored of empty (apart from elistist arseholes that require you to have the gear from 5 dungeons after the one you are going to because that makes sense) and felt what was there was shit anyway. Honestly though how much of a loser do you have to be to buy 30 virtual homes in a terrible game...just go play second life or escape your real life with a bullet in your head, much easier.
I thought FF14 still has a lot of people in it mainly because Square is pandering to people that want to make and be their own waifu, like how Sega is with PSO2.

Nah, FFXIV is actually one of the better theme park MMOs out there. Probably the best, really. It has a few issues but is super solid.
