Is he a mod here? I know he's a redditor. Just saying, he's showing some potential.

He declined to become a mod, unfortunately.

And we didn't have an honor killing to settle matters? Wtf mods.

What a shame

I honestly had to check to make sure he wasn't a mod. Not that I won't talk shit on mods. Everyone knows /u/comedicsans is neither comedic nor sans.

Everyone knows /u/ComedicSans is neither comedic nor sans

What does "sans" mean, you goddamned illiterate?

It means without, as in you are without courtesy.

So close

More like SansComedic tho.

We tried to add him but he wouldn't accept.

I don't think even /u/xNotch is retarded enough to invest with that guy. Or even give him his real phone number and shit.

Dude needs to be a mod here. He can get back at Daquan

We tried. He had an outstanding request for months and months, but he didnt accept or reject it.

Eh still would

It's a 7.5 minute video, but holy shit I've never seen anyone get publicly owned so hard as this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-f6rQ1PZGw

This is my favorite part of that thread. Owned by no less than Jason fucking Chaffetz.

Who is that guy, and is he famous for something (which you seem to imply)?

A House Rep from Utah who is known for being a bit of a political hack. He lead some extensive House investigations of both Obama and Clinton(including doing a lot of Benghazi truthing), but declined to do any investigations of Trump. He was also an early GOP leader to rescind his endorsement of Trump, which he promptly went back on. Hes doing some other shitty stuff like go after Planned Parenthood using dishonest data from an anti-abortion group and he represents a lot of the worst of the worst of mainstream GOP policy by denying climate change, being against net neutrality, etc etc. Oh, and hes an antivaxxer.

So him going after a "business leader" of any sort is a bit unexpected. He must have sensed blood in the water or something.

Thanks! Excellent explanation.

I wonder what he could have been if he hadn't taken the pandering path.

He's clearly intelligent. He was thoroughly prepared and he didn't lay off of his argument for one second. He laid so much righteous fury on that lady that anybody who didn't know him would have called him a fucking hero, working to pull the masses from the mire that is the healthcare industry.

But nope, Jason fucking Chaffetz.

He lead some extensive House investigations of both Obama and Clinton

Just to pile on, he held 33 investigations that found nothing except that the middle east is violent and that his party gutted embassy security. He's a joke.

Jeez, that was savage. Makes you think maybe Republicans actually do care about the expense of health care and aren't just engaging in the usual partisan bullshit.

This is like running a Ponzi scheme where you invest in lottery tickets, failing, creating another Ponzi scheme to invest in lottery tickets, failing, buying a scratchy ticket with your last dollar and winning back enough money to pay everyone out.

It is still fraudulent as shit.

But that's what I love about fraud. If you call a credit card company, give them fake pay stubs, fake bank statements, lie about your employer, and get a credit card that you wouldn't have been able to, would that be fraud? The answer is no. You can't commit fraud unless the person you made misleading statements to lost something. If you faithfully make payments to the credit card company, there is no fraud.

Shkreli is just ugly, snide, and unethical.

(1) a representation of fact; (2) its falsity; (3) its materiality; (4) the representer’s knowledge of its falsity or ignorance of its truth; (5) the representer’s intent that it should be acted upon by the person in the manner reasonably contemplated; (6) the injured party’s ignorance of its falsity; (7) the injured party’s reliance on its truth; (8) the injured party’s right to rely thereon; and (9) the injured party’s consequent and proximate injury.

The prosecution is effectively saying that the injury was that the victims had to look at Shkreli's ugly ass face LMAO

Umm, yes.

He defaulted on those loans.

Lying to a money-lender about security for a loan is deriving a benefit under false pretenses. If only there were a word for that...

And if the money-lender still makes the interest and the loan is satisfied, it doesn't matter if the benfit was derived under false pretenses.

Bollocks.

He'll probably have to use the money he was going to buy another eSports team to get himself out of this one. Maybe sacrifice a coupla months of WoW subscriptions too.
