The OP was a longtime contributor to metafilter who'd already made some contacts there, posted his picture, etc.; it'd take a ridiculous amount of effort to not only fabricate the website and story but to rope to slavic-looking teens and a middle-aged woman in NYC into going along with the prank and either lying about living in Wyoming way before the sex trafficking post or actually flying out to meet the actors he somehow managed to convince to help him play a prank about sex trafficking.
