antipsychotics are notorious for having horrible and sometimes irreversible side effects (I'm looking at you TD) so I can completely understand someone not wanting to take them. Often these side effects are weighed against the symptoms exhibited and a doctor deciding which will be easier to live with (EPS are easier to deal with than hallucinations schizophrenics have in most cases). It seems unnecessarily risky to put someone high functioning and already in society on a drug that can do outward permanent damage to them.

Fuck anti psychotics. Was on them for like 6 months, I slept so much. I was always exhausted. I didn't even have psychosis and my doctor was running out of options for my anxiety and made me chug a couple of them down, and when I complained that I felt void of emotion they decided OCD meds was the next option.
Its horrible. I felt little emotion and felt like I was numb the whole time. I was less anxious/depressed but only because I didn't give a shit about my life. I stopped talking to people pretty much and did the same thing everyday and went to bed immediately once I got home. I didnt feel anger, sadness, or happiness. It felt like a dream to me and all I did in school was do my work and leave. Btw they put me on very heavy anti psychotics at 15, I threw up often and lost like 10 pounds.
