Agreed. Sometimes when I get really morbid I read into the plans the Khmers had, or really just how their imaginations thought it would play out. It's insanity.
It sounds absolutely insane but I think the Vietnamese, our bitter foes previously and who were invading for their own reasons, were somehow beneficial for Cambodia. NVA who were known for their taking more than their share of innocent blood, inadvertently removed from power one crazy motherfucker. Shame they didn't capture the crazy fuck, Pol Pot, and try him.
