I sometimes browse /r/drama just to see what's going on there. It's fucking embarrassing mostly. Nearly every post, nearly every comment is cringe-inducing. The worst part is that it's all supposed to be ironic and meme-tastic. Pretty much the equivalent of that comic about "only pretending to be retarded".
If someone posts in /r/drama, you know where they stand on anything. There's no depth below the surface.
Actually, the nearly 50% of Republicans who believed Obama was a foreigner and a muslim are the alt right and alt right sympathizers. Just because it is common, does not make it "normal". Now is not the time to sit on the sidelines.
I have some other very troubling statistics to share if you are interested.
People need to fucking educate themselves on how easy it is get small poll data to say what you want if you are a shady fucker who is "very careful in his selection of outliers":
