Yeah, I would rather just post a link to google with the title "a thing happened" because God FORBID someone actually BOTHER TO EXPLAIN WTF WE'RE LOOKING AT OR WHY WE SHOULD GIVE A SHIT
The smaller channels making OC have little recourse to appeal claims by large companies who generally are allowed to take down anything with zero evidence, claiming the monetization for the initial peak of traffic to the video. The bigger channels with production reps have a direct channel to YouTube and basically get VIP treatment even when they steal content. YouTube's hate/conspiracy/drama demonetization push actually was a grab by big media and pushed the threshold where a channel can survive on revenue up by 100%, causing a big rush to Patreon. This weights the channel revenue more directly from the user's base, with Google and Patreon taking giant chunks of the revenue.
YouTube's April hate/conspiracy/drama demonetization push actually was a grab by big media and pushed the threshold where a channel can survive on revenue up by 100%
Can you clarify? Are you saying youtube made it twice as hard for smaller OC producers to earn revenue? Given google's sole reason for existing is for mining data, why would they discourage small new content uploaders?
Broteams best streams are when he has these videos playing in the background and just laughs his ass off at how stupid and pointless they are.
OMG this in time I was at my uncle's house and I always close this one door but I woke up and it was open OMG I always knew I had some kind of spiritual connection and this is just more proof.
What shit content. Scary stories and list channels are all regurgitated shit. They're just poorly narrating other people's work and cutting every 3 seconds so they don't have to rehearse, just do it in one take.
It's not fair use as she isnt criticizing cayleigh elise or buzzfeed, she's just stealing their stock footage haha. Which is silly because Ive done documentaries on youtube before and you can just get stock footage for free from a lot of places.
Just because she credited them doesnt mean she's allowed to use their footage, that's not how it works. Thatd be like me taking footage from Phillip Defranco, muting him, and then doing my voice over on that and calling it a vlog.
Cayleigh Elise (the YouTube she's stolen from) is fucking fantastic. She does her own research, speaks with conviction (so no "likes" or "sort ofs") and is respectful to the subject. Oh, and she works full time outside of YouTube.
Basically, subscribe to her rather than the tool in the linked video.
Yeah, YT is fucking over these guys. Rob Dyke is really good too - you probably already know of him because Cayleigh also writes for him, but if not check him out as well. I chuck him a couple of dollars on Patreon, and have been thinking about doing the same with Cayleigh, because I like their stuff more than I like the generic true crime shit I get on TV.
I'd like Rob Dyke a lot more if he didn't seem kind of like a sleazy 90s tv host. I enjoy his serial killer files series though
Youtube demonetized horror/true crime channels, pro wrestling channels, and gun channels. So basically because the wall street journal got triggered by pewdiepie my 3 favorite things on youtube are not unable to make money to sustain themselves. It's really rustling my jimmies
Sad that people think that by giving credit in the description, that means all is well. First off, she said "Bid thanks" instead of "Big thanks." Moron. People like this should be kicked from the platform. The original creator should content ID the video and get the revenue. This is far from fair use since the video isn't transformative at all. Some people don't deserve the fame they have on YouTube.

We should ban YouTube drama anyways, I don't need to watch plebs fling shit at each other.
I only come here for the finest, well-curated drama.

This is apparently Shane Dawson's exgirlfriend/beard, as I was told.
Thats the cherry on top
1 dramallllama 2017-08-24
Wow she has 2 million subscribers and only averages between 30k to 50k views per video.
1 MAGA_Chicken 2017-08-24
That's what happens when you buy 1.9 million subscriptions and produce boring content.

So how do copyright laws work on Youtube in such cases?

I love the smaller youtuber and have been watching her for a while.
She's cute, she presents her content in a good way with research backed up, and the stories she tells are interesting.
She deserves a lot more attention tbh

I fucking love Cayleigh Elise. This bitch better hang for this.
Also buy a t shirt from her because youtube demonetized all horror and true crime channels
