/r/boardgames becomes a cesspool of shit thanks to head mod /u/ASnugglyBear's inability to fucking communicate a coherent thought

I am a bot. (Info / Contact)

Im not reading all that..

I worked very hard as a moderator on /r/boardgames and dedicated most of my free time at my real job to trying to keep the forum clean and friendly for all. Many days I spent six hours or more on /r/boardgames actively handling things in the modqueue. It's a trying, thankless and sometimes rage-inducing job for which we get no compensation at all.

i'm confused, am i supposed to read this and not just think "what a fucking loser"?

lol, there is no way that moderating /r/boardgames actually takes that long.

/u/jplank1983's steamy love letters take like 90 minutes a day to read alone. People just can't shut the fuck up when they're told "yeah, that thing you did, it's bad, stop it".

So you inspired me to look through his comment history and frankly I can't see where he did anything bad.

Modmails (he seriously sent us obscure points on Quebecois contest law, then requested progress on them after I asked him to stop username mentioning me).

Commented on a 10 day old thread correcting me on babies too. I don't know what that had to do with me being a mod at all.

See, he's got babies on the brain. He must want my sweet sweet bear cubs.

Wait, is he Quebecois? Perma.

... Has it occurred to you that maybe he just thinks you're a shitty mod and is trying to get back at you for it?

By repeated contact, by George, that would be harassment wouldn't it? Following someone around on multiple issues.

I mean, you know there's a "block user" button, right?

It is partially disabled for mods of a subreddit. Reddit expects you to ban people who harass you

BTW, I would love an explanation for why y'all are using automoderator to remove all my comments in /r/boardgames automatically, in contravention of the guidelines the admins handed down on April 27.

Me? I'm not using auto moderator to do anything.

y'all plural. Every comment I make in the subreddit is instantly removed, as verified in an incognito window.

Wouldn't this result in a civility ban over on /r/boardgames? Especially since the user you mention isn't in this discussion here.

Till this point I thought you just felt like everyone was ganging up against you and needed time. At this point I do think you need to let someone take over as head mod.

So would have his repeated contact to me, personally, on multiple issues several times a day some times if we actually moderated harassment against mods.

Dude contacted me like 20+ times in my very first week on 3 issues, and wouldn't go away on a random CEO post that we screwed up on.

He took 5 messages filled with tasks to agree to stop constantly username mentioning me.

Till this point I thought you just felt like everyone was ganging up against you and needed time

Naw, the trolling won, I was just trying to hold out for /r/metaboardgames reform. But apparently nope. Abuse works(tm)

/r/boardgames and /r/metaboardgames is full of autists? Who'da thunk it?

Hey, he's a dick. But leave the rest of the people out of it who just need a little guidance on do's and do not's.

'/u/jplank1983's steamy love letters'

For anyone else reading this: apparently it's the name of a reskin of the game love letter and not snugs being rude!

I dunno, weren't the mods of this place complaining even though we're explicitly low-effort?

I didn't hear about that, but given this is /r/drama I'd say the mods complaining about stupid shit is part of the job description.

What say you, /u/ASnugglyBear? Are you a Cylon and/or Secret Hitler?

Secret Hitler!
