That should probably be "progressive Democrats", because I'm really unsure what separates these people from Republicans aside from only becoming transphobic and homophobic when it's someone they really don't like being discussed, such as Chelsea Manning.
There is basically nobody stupid enough to want to pay $20k to a hated private insurance company for the same care they could get for $10k in taxes. That's what single payer does if you compare the US with all the other developed countries that have it, we have (roughly speaking) the same health outcomes for twice the price. There are real problems with fast implementation (all those surplus jobs will have to be dealt with after all, and winding down huge firms isn't painless), but it's doable.
Is it a tough political problem, with a huge array of wealthy monopolists and armies of lobbyists against single payer advocates? Yeah, but you don't win in politics by crying about how it's too hard. You grit your teeth and fucking fight for it. This is why liberals have known nothing but absolute, pathetic failure in the last few years, they are more concerned about civility and process then actually accomplishing anything worthwhile.
PS: /u/snapadoodles if you think /r/drama is some leftist Reddit backup squad you should probably spend more time here. I just wanted to make fun of you and agenda post as per my specialty. Lol at Kamala Harris bending the knee to us Bernie Bros though. She won't be the last one, and I will enjoy watching you cry about it.
i will certainly not bother reading or responding to anything that guy says, the shtick is beyond old even when it isn't 2000 word blog posts in comment form
I'm actually pretty good at it, it's not aimed at this sub nor right-wingers though. That would be a waste of time. Leftist propaganda is most effective when aimed at disgruntled liberals, the odd right-libertarian and social democrats!
I'm somewhere between a disgruntled liberal (in the standard American sense) and a social Democrat. A few years ago, my views on anarchism and shit were basically yours. 2/10 times I find you right on the mark and 8/10 times I find you to be loony as shit.
Congrats, I don't care and never have about the opinions of any regulars of this subreddit. It's a numbers game and I have enough good metrics to judge how I'm doing that anecdotal evidence from one novelty account or another is totally unimportant.
I'm doing very well in my life and I am materially quite satisfied. The only thing that could make me happier is having a larger platform to make people I don't like even more angrier.
Lol at Kamala Harris bending the knee to us Bernie Bros though. She won't be the last one, and I will enjoy watching you cry about it.
Now that's actually true, unlike the rest of your screed. There are going to be a few oddball progressives who side with Sanders on nonsense that'll never get to the floor before they're inevitably voted out of office. "Bending the knee" to an antediluvian socialist whose greatest political accomplishment is naming a post office will not get anyone far, though.
I'm sure Harris' sole reason for sponsoring the Medicaid for all bill is to build some semblance of progressive cred for a 2020 run. It's all posturing, not reflective of whatever political principles she might secretly have.
What the fuck is this slay queen stuff? Is it another retarded /r/Drama thing or a new and awful thing women with low self-image say to themselves/each other?
"Yas queen" and "slay queen" are vocab that white girls stole from Black women/gay men and now use unironically as a White Girl Feminist affirmation. It mostly gets used outside of those circles ironically, to mock White Girl Feminism and Woke Culture excess in general.
It's fine. It's a unifying issue for the party now (at least in a theoretical world where policy would sway the people who are already screaming about Kamala), that could easily take the format of a public option if and when Dems are in a position to do anything with this.
C O P E
Also, is this part of her running for president next time, trying to style herself as a bridge between the sanders/social democratic wing and the new democrats, hmm.
Everyone talked about how 2016 was the worst presidential election in this country's history, but every now and again I think forward to how 2020 might be shaping up and I have to cross myself. Dear God, have mercy on us
I left that sub when they pretty much DEMANDED everyone to vote for Hillary. They could not grasp the concept someone could be against Trump and not like Hillary.
Yeah but people will spend even less of their income on private insurance and will come out ahead. there aren't enough ancaps to get mad about spending less money for the same service but in taxes instead of Free Market Swindling to swing the vote on this.

I happily admit to being here mostly to improve my ability to craft propaganda, but even so I am pretty genuine, no?

I'm not sure I've ever seen it used unironically but it's supposedly vocabulary, appropriated from black gay men, that woke people use.

It absolutely is. She's one of the establishment frontrunners for the Dem nomination at this (very early) point, along with Cory Booker.

When CA looked at single-payer, just the healthcare portion would have doubled the entire state budget.

An idea so dumb, not even California was willing to do it.
