Both cities being in the bay area that have a lot of overlap. Gurantee some extra butthurt "progressives" make their way across the bridge tomorrow night to LARP against Shapiro. I bet there are a good amount of regular r/sanfrancisco posters that will be there with their comrades.
I'm glad I graduated college years ago. I couldn't deal with all of the dumb shit like this on college campuses today.
True story: Late 90s I was at a large public state college. There was going to be a LGBT conference on campus one weekend. The majority of campus showed up to protest AGAINST the conference.
Wow, what state was that? I can't picture that happening when I went to college in the same timeframe. Maybe its because I went to college in a big city?
All of this could be avoided if the dumbasses just kept to their room and studied instead of blocking the street or crying because a speaker they don't agree with is on campus.
Studying is fucking boring and hard to do for ten minutes before you start thinking about how everyone out there is probably banging and then you get pissed and gotta MARCH
They're seeking attention, and the competition is stiff.
SJW's fight an arms race against each other when it comes to who's the most dramatic or victimized, which leads to crisis councilors for people faking mental breakdowns.
If I were a criminal, west coast trust fund kids would be my #1 target. They have no idea how to defend themselves, they have terrible memories, and they probably wouldn't even go to the cops because they think that the cops are just waiting to oppress brave socialist warriors such as themselves.
And then of course there's the fact that they're loaded with daddy's money which they never spend because he already pays for everything.
'they are worried not about the speakers headed our way but, rather, by the possibility that members of the antifa paramilitary group will return to the campus'
When I was attending UCSB, we had protests and people freaking out a lot, but this was before this type of thing was condoned and pushed by the school itself. I remember being really upset when a guy asked me to sign a petition to impeach Bush and I politely declined...he literally followed me for awhile through the quad yelling at me that I was a fascist blah blah. That sucked enough. I can't even imagine what it's like now.
The pussy hid behind the general mod mail of the sub then muted me right after I asked why I was banned but sent some feeble reply about not allowing alt-right posts in the sub.

You're oversimplifying a complex situation to the point of adding nothing to the discussion.

UC Berkeley is in Berkeley, CA. Why the fuck would /r/SanFrancisco care?
1 botchlings 2017-09-13
Because they are essentially the same city... less than 20 minutes apart by car, dumbass
1 HodorTheDoorHolder 2017-09-13
No they're not essentially the same city. Berkeley is in its own world. San Francisco is a busy city with its own university.
Why do you get so angry over the most trivial things?
1 botchlings 2017-09-13
Your stupidity angers me.
1 HodorTheDoorHolder 2017-09-13
Your gayness makes me laugh.

My best guess is that most of the protesters won't be college students.
1 keepittropical 2017-09-13
Exactly. Just a bunch of dumbs from SF, Oakland, and Berkeley with too much time on their hands and nothing better to do.
1 kermit_was_right 2017-09-13
Don't worry, I'm sure some brave counter protestors will bus up from Central Valley and various other shitholes.

They are on the same subway line.
1 HodorTheDoorHolder 2017-09-13
You mean BART? Almost all of the Bay Area is connected to BART.

I know!

Nuke the biggest economy in the US and one of the few states that actually generated money unlike most conservative shitholes? Makes sense.

People who protest in the street are missing something in their lives and often it isn't the thing that they are protesting about.

It's not usually the students. Berkeley students are actually fairly apolitical. The LARPers of both sides come from all over the place.
1 wwyzzerdd 2017-09-13
Did You Know?
The overall crime rate in Berkeley is 87% higher than the national average.
For every 100,000 people, there are 14.65 daily crimes that occur in Berkeley.
Berkeley is safer than 16% of the cities in the United States.
In Berkeley you have a 1 in 19 chance of becoming a victim of any crime.
The number of total year over year crimes in Berkeley has increased by 14%.

Let me guess... liberal and/or mostly minority city government

I have a large number of Bay Area friends. Not a single one of them has avoided being robbed or burglarized.
