Mother! For r/drama movie of the year
30 2017-09-16 by icefourthirtythree
Aside from the movie itself. The shit it is causing, as well as JLaw's comments (specifically with conservative viewers and media outlets) makes it the best movie for the year.
Just look at this:
Stylish But Tedious Lecture Against Christianity In Defense of Mother Earth
'Mother!' assailed as a 'grotesque and nauseating' attack on Christians
Also, taking a look at Reddit's resident retards:

Serious, non-agenda post: Is it any good? Keep in mind that I really liked Black Swan.
1 menvaren 2017-09-16
Has Jennifer Lawrence been in a good movie since Winter's Bone?
1 icefourthirtythree 2017-09-16
It's more The Fountain than Black Swan, but I really liked it.
1 DontTrustRedditors 2017-09-16
I'll check it out. Who knows. If if it's boring, I'll just stop watching it. I hear it's more disturbing than boring, though.
1 twinksteverogers 2017-09-16
Someone said the last 40 minutes felt like 5.
1 AnnoysTheGoys 2017-09-16
Did you like The Fountain?
1 Ed_ButteredToast 2017-09-16
I love it! I know it weird especially if you're not into such movies but really The Fountain is simply beautiful! Clint Mansell's score for this movie is almost God tier! "The last man" one is his best for this movie.
Pls don't tell me you hate it?
1 AnnoysTheGoys 2017-09-16
Is this pasta?
1 Ed_ButteredToast 2017-09-16
Anything can be pasta if you're willing enough.
1 AnnoysTheGoys 2017-09-16
I was just hoping it was for the sake of my respect for you.
1 Ed_ButteredToast 2017-09-16
Just say you didn't like it lol. I mean not everyone is going to like the movie. Same goes for Cloud Atlas, Mr Nobody etc.
1 AnnoysTheGoys 2017-09-16
I'd rather judge you harshly for your poor taste tho
1 Ed_ButteredToast 2017-09-16
If i say I've never seen Paul Blart Mall Cop, will you crucify me?
1 AnnoysTheGoys 2017-09-16
Of course not! (((I'll))) get the Romans do it for me.

I like Mr. Nobody, although I haven't seen Cloud Atlas.
1 Ed_ButteredToast 2017-09-16
Yes it's really amazing once you wrap your head around it.
1 twinksteverogers 2017-09-16
Okay I'll watch it tomorrow.
1 HodorTheDoorHolder 2017-09-16
You liked Cloud Atlas?
1 Ed_ButteredToast 2017-09-16
Yes.
1 ManhattanTransFur 2017-09-16
It is either pasta or else it is an actual brain-thought by /u/Ed_ButteredToast.
Your call.
1 AnnoysTheGoys 2017-09-16
I was trying to give him an out.
1 Thesixithoffoot 2017-09-16
No
1 TheLonelyBoxmaker 2017-09-16
It's the kind of movie you should see twice without reading anything about it. It's steeped in symbolism and I came out of it really enjoying it from an artistic standpoint. If you aren't really into movies as art than you probably won't enjoy it. I give it a solid 8/10
1 shitsfuckedupalot 2017-09-16
I liked it. She was above tolerable and Bardem kills it like he usually does. The plot was fun and interesting
1 HodorTheDoorHolder 2017-09-16
Yeah it's pretty good. It's not about Christianity though. It's about fandom and fame and it uses the Christ allegory to show it.
1 IceCreaaams 2017-09-16
I liked Black Swan. This was a hot piece of garbage.
1 lickedTators 2017-09-16
Jennifer Lawrence looks like Ivanka Trump.
Also, look at this stupid fuck trying to ruin Keanu Reeves:

1 Ed_ButteredToast 2017-09-16

1 John_Kvetch 2017-09-16
When we going to have another rabbbit /r/drama movie time. I want to show everyone my midget porn again.
1 buttermyself 2017-09-16
You got any midget porn gangbangs where the midgets are dressed up like clowns?
1 John_Kvetch 2017-09-16
Not right now, but I'm expecting an amateur home-made IT parody midget anal sewer gangbang in my inbox any time soon.
1 buttermyself 2017-09-16
I was thinking of something a little more light-hearted, like something i wouldnt too embarrased to be watching if my family "accidentally" walked in on me ;)
1 John_Kvetch 2017-09-16
I can try to find a non-anal version but it will be kinda hard.
1 PressFPayRespect 2017-09-16
I'll be putting one on tonight or Monday and will be showing Baby Driver followed by a looping video of Mexican cartel executions for 3 hours with I Saw The Sign overlayed for audio.
Press F
1 John_Kvetch 2017-09-16
I haven't actually seen Baby Diver yet.
1 PressFPayRespect 2017-09-16
Its great, just watched it last night and would definitely watch again. Its basically a movie length car chase with a sound track. Pr cool.

Man, /r/The_Donald is really doing what they do best and beating this one into the ground.
And don't miss this insightful analysis of why JLaw hasn't had a successful movie in a while:
1 ForeverMozart 2017-09-16
lol @ the_donald thinking that rex reed is considered good criticism.
1 grungebot5000 2017-09-16
did anybpdy see the director's AMA
did it foretell this
1 SmurfPrivilege 2017-09-16
That's odd. Cinemascore is that letter grade rating that I've never paid attention to because EVERY film I've seen has gotten an A through B rating. I've never seen a C or D, and up until now I've never seen an F. Transformers 5 got a B. Snatched (2017) with Amy Schumer also got a B, which ironically is the same grade as Guy Ritchie's Snatch (2001).
Whatever one thinks of Mother!, it's pretty clear Cinemascore is a failed rating system.
1 imaginarycreatures 2017-09-16
Cinemascore bases their grade off of people leaving the theater on the opening night of the film. In other words, the people rating the films were likely already interested in seeing the film in the first place. That's why the scores are typically A or B.
The scores tend to get bad if the movie was promoted in a way that led people to think it would be drastically different than it really was. Having not seen Mother!, I don't know if that's the case here, but I wouldn't be surprised if people went into Bug or Solaris expecting something quite a bit different than what they got.
1 glmox 2017-09-16
what a weird list. bug and solaris are both disturbing, downbeat psychological dramas with not a lot of action that did perfectly fine critically and financially afaik. id say whoever they survey or whatever are just total plebs, but it still doesnt make sense why it would be only those two. like, theyre not megaplex fare but theyre hardly extreme outliers either, plenty of comparable movies play in somewhat artsy theaters around awards season.
i did hear killing them softly sucked though
1 HodorTheDoorHolder 2017-09-16
Solaris sucked because they changed half of the film and made it about a sun monster.
1 glmox 2017-09-16
yeah it was kind of lame but not "worst movie ever" lame, y'know?
1 HodorTheDoorHolder 2017-09-16
It was underwhelming
1 MG87 2017-09-16
Morons don't like Artsy film? News at 11
1 bleak_new_world 2017-09-16
Damn, that was a good one.
1 geraldo42 2017-09-16
Yeah. American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook were decent and she was good in them. If you're a tween I suppose Hunger Games was probably good too.
1 geraldo42 2017-09-16
You can buy it on Amazon and Youtube and shit for $15 which means there's a decent copy on all the torrent sites now.
