You're the one making value judgements on how bad Asian accents sound, and yet you're the one calling other people racist. What the fuck is wrong with you?

Also, "don't assume what country someone is from based on how they look and how they sound" is a demented way of functioning in society.

Seriously, that level of cognitive dissonance should be contained and studied.

Don't assume things about people! Also assume that Asians speaking English is inherently broken!

Having an accent isn't a positive for Asians. It's not suave like a French person speaking English. For Asians, it is the exact opposite of positive. It implies that their English is not only funny-sounding, but also imperfect, riddled with flaws, incompetent, and less than.

It's the "recognizing skin color is racist because blacks are crooks" approach to anti-racism.

Hey, you know the only assumption about people you can make is that they're racists.

/u/Necks I've seen a lot of stupid people on this site, but you take the kimchi.

/u/necks im glad you brought that up i agree with you that other guy was a dumb bigot thank you for your wisdom

A racist is just a person that knows things about other races. To not be racist is to be ignorant, and that's just plain dumb.

It's not suave like a French person speaking English.

u/Necks, French accent is disgusting. You can't make out anything they're saying through the overload of guttural sounds. They are Asian-level bad.

I rather listen to an Indian talks in his accent than listening to a French talk in his accent.

Have French grandparent. Can confirm. Need my dad around to translate her accent for me most of the time.

They also tend to talk reaaally fast.

Wow, then they might be worse than Asian accent. At least Asians would get their tongue twisted with all the English words, so it sounds slow.

asian fragility smh

One time I was working at a retail store and a customer wit a strong british accent came up. I subconsciously started to copy her accent but stopped before I said anything much.
