Fun fact: in America, due to the ADA, a company cannot ask to see papers on if your "service animal" is actually one. They can say "we don't allow animals in the store/premises/whatever" and as long as you reply with "it's a service animal" (and I believe there are some stipulations on what can be a service animal) they legally can't ask any more questions. They don't even need a little vest.
Almost correct - they can ask if it's a service animal and also ask what services the animal is trained to perform. They cannot ask you why you have a service animal, what your disability is, for proof, etc.
Am I the only one that's feeling like there's a narrative being pushed here?
Daulatzai teaches at the Maryland Institute College of Art, a spokesman for the school confirmed. According to her online bio, she is a socio-cultural anthropologist in the Humanistic Studies department. She previously was a visiting assistant professor at Harvard Divinity School.
Is this detail relevant to whether or not she has allergies?
Los Angeles resident Bill Dumas, 61, recorded the video and said Daulatzai was seated toward the back of the plane. He said passengers became uneasy when police arrived.
“It went from this very quiet conversation and suddenly erupted into this big physical confrontation,” he told The Times.
Dumas, who has a background in documentary film, said that Daulatzai put up fierce resistance.
Is this one?! what does that have to do with anything?
Yeah, there are several his paintings that have survived. They actually sell for a lot of money when they come up, but they are not masterpieces by any stretch of the imagination.
Sociocultural anthropology is a portmanteau used to refer to social anthropology and cultural anthropology together. Some universities, such as Boston University and New York University, link them together into one major of study.
The rubric cultural anthropology is generally applied to ethnographic works that are holistic in spirit, oriented to the ways in which culture affects individual experience, or aim to provide a rounded view of the knowledge, customs, and institutions of a people. Social anthropology is a term applied to ethnographic works that attempt to isolate a particular system of social relations such as those that comprise domestic life, economy, law, politics, or religion, give analytical priority to the organizational bases of social life, and attend to cultural phenomena as somewhat secondary to the main issues of social scientific inquiry.
Hmmm. Her focus is islamic studies. Islam believes that dogs are unclean. She claims to be deathly allergic to dogs, but has no proof nor did she contact the airline beforehand. Interesting.

You know. The other day I saw a woman wearing a hijab walk briskly toward an old commercial van and get in. She had a package and she didn't make eye contact with anyone. She drove away pretty quickly. Very suspicious.
Anyway, I realized something -- people who drive old commercial vans always make me suspicious.
I wish the video was long enough to catch the inevitable clapping of the rest of the passengers.
I thoroughly enjoy airplane freakouts. No matter how or why they go down in the end most people are just happy its over and they can get on with their flight. All of the passengers are bonded in that moment.
I also enjoy watching adults revert to children. Its like they think if they can stall long enough then the authorities will capitulate and let them stay on the plane. I can walk! followed by not walking is sure to sway the opinion of the officer.
I can't even tell who is the biggest snowflake - the ridiculous hippie professor with fake allergies, or the muppet who needs to fly with an "emotional support animal". World is going to shit I tell you.
Because the 2 women who want to carry their non service dogs on an airplane aren't snowflakes inconveniencing everyone else? Just what we need, dog shit and piss in the aisle we all have to step over.

You mean two pets?

Planes are one of two places that emotional support animals are legally allowed. The other is housing, same as service animals.
Thanks /r/legaladvice!

Yes! Also I don't believe that they can say "that's not a service animal"
1 incineratechicken 2017-09-29
You can't. At the very least I've never worked somewhere where it was permitted to kick someone out because of their incontinent Chihuahua.
1 SlavophilesAnonymous 2017-09-29
Planes can ask you.
1 strathmeyer 2017-09-29
You mean some place someone doesn't have to fake having a support animal? Tell me more.

Is the narrative that she should've got a helicopter ride instead of an airplane?
1 iknourbutwutmi 2017-09-29
I bet there wouldn't be a support animal on a helicopter
1 CucksLoveTrump 2017-09-29
Oh you can bring one if you like but it won't be coming back either
1 ironicshitpostr 2017-09-29
Oh no the poor animal!

So she teaches at an art college...
What the hell is that?
1 Fr33_Lax 2017-09-29
An art school could've prevented Hitler.
She studies or teaches about the social condition of historical societies in a department that specializes about people.
1 Mr_mzungu 2017-09-29
But then we wouldn't have had this masterpiece!
You said a lot of words to describe exactly what her title said. Literally added nothing.
1 Fr33_Lax 2017-09-29
That's actually a nice painting.
All I've ever tried to do.
1 Mr_mzungu 2017-09-29
Then you were very successful!
1 Fr33_Lax 2017-09-29
Thank you :)

Also of note is that she didn't get her epipen and there is no mention of her having any reaction or needing any kind of treatment at all.
1 High_In_The_Instep 2017-09-29
Oh she hadn't had any type of reaction. She was demanding a free epipen from the plane's medikit. Just in case she had a reaction.

I can't wait until we get to the 5th element style of police enforcement and they just bag her up and drag her off.
