It shouldn't come as a shock that a news org will make the laziest possible logical conclusion and analysis so long as it supporters the narrative that gets the most pageclicks or generates the most buzz.
It's weird that anyone is surprised by this. The southern poverty law center has been tracking black hate groups for awhile now, and as far as I know this hasn't caused much controversy. I suppose those groups don't get nearly as much (or any) media attention when compared to their white counterparts, which has maybe lead some to believe they don't exist.
But in any case it would be a lot stranger if the FBI wasn't tracking black extremists in any capacity.
im too lazy to check, but when i read this yesterday I remember seeing like one or two people doing a "ya but i bet they do zero investigation into white supremacists"
lol
the joke that 75% of the KKK is actually feds isnt really a joke. more like a funny fact. its like people dont understand the "powers that be" have a vested interest in keeping things the way they are. they arent gonna be like "well these communists want to overthrow the state, but theyre WHITE communists so lets not bother looking into them"
Fucking mods tagging my self-admitted low effort shitpost as low effort. Explain yourselves /u/ComedicSans, /u/snallygaster, or /u/MasterLawlz, since I know it was one of you fuccbois!
one of these years, america is gonna get fed up of hearing the most bloodthirsty demographic constantly cry about how much of a victim they are, and theyre all going to get pushed into the ocean
and then afterwards we'll all talk about how bad the even was, and how things dominoed and got out of hand, how we must be vigilant against it happening again, etc etc, but secretly we'll all be like 'thank fuck those shitbags are gone'
Okay dumbass, how would you show that cops often kill people who haven't committed a violent crime other than what I did of using video evidence of them doing exactly that?
Anecdote: a short and amusing or interesting story about a real incident or person; an account regarded to be unreliable or heresy
I'm not telling you a story about my friend, I'm presenting video evidence of cops murdering people. Anecdotes are inadmissible in court. Video evidence is 100% viable as evidence in court.
I'm pretty sure you are the one who doesn't know what anecdote means, not all narratives are anecdotes.
how would you show that [a group] often [does a thing]
Have you heard of this field of mathematics called "statistics"?
a short and amusing or interesting story about a real incident or person; an account regarded to be unreliable or heresy
Also:
a short account of a particular incident or event, especially of an interesting or amusing nature. a short, obscure historical or biographical account.
The term does not actually imply fabrication, but it does imply unsuitability for use to show a trend.
Anecdotes are inadmissible in court. Video evidence is 100% viable as evidence in court.
Court is irrelevant because you aren't attempting to prove a single incident, you're attempting to show a trend.
It probably wouldn't take much effort to find you four news stories about animals escaping from municipal zoos and causing problems for the city; that, too, does not "often" happen.
I don't care if it's a fucking trend or not, because it's still extrajudicial murder when it does happen. If cops started killing white people on a regular basis for non-violent crimes or no crime you know there would be backlash, so I don't see how it's surprising that it my cause backlash in the black community.
Please tell me if I got this right, because there hasn't been enough cases to provide accurate statistics, when a cop kills someone it is always 100% justified and unreasonable to be angered by, is that right?
Yeah, I'm done with this, I'm not going to waste my time arguing with someone who can't tell factual evidence from a personal account and someone who clearly doesn't care for the lives of others, goodbye.

You're oversimplifying a complex situation to the point of adding nothing to the discussion.

Uh... you do know what the word "anecdote" means, right?

It's almost like when you say things, you should care about whether they're actually true.
1 mandark3434 2017-10-07
First you said it was a trend not me.

No, that's a perfectly reasonable interpretation of your "often" phrasing.
No. I'm sorry that your reading comprehension is so abysmal.
