I had been playing wow for years but most of my friends who used to play with me ended up giving me grief and issues and become generally unplayable ( most of them bitching and fighting over what to do at night or which raids to try or what content ), so I stopped for awhile during that time I meant a new friend, a guy just like myself we went to a video game convention and I mentioned wow to him ( himself only having ever played CS:GO) immediately said isn’t that the game all those weirdos get addicted too.
I was determined to have my new friend play WoW with me so I slowly worked him through other games exposing him to RPG elements then RTS elements working him from warframe to grim dawn to PoE to Diablo 3 and in general preparing him for wow when finally I managed to convince him to make a starter account. We levelled to 70 together it was a struggle at first as most MMO’s are for new players I went healer priest and he went hunter but he began to love the idea of getting stronger and feeing his character and abilities grow, eventually he bought legion and used his boost to continue his adventures with his hunter , his joy growing every single night .
Slowly he honestly learnt how to do a decent rotation and I suggested us switch to a more populated server and start again with DK characters before he got too attached ( my crappy friends had started playing and were bothering us ) so we switched to an RP server the increased interactions and player population drove him wild and he fell in love with his DK. Every night we grinded to level then to get gear and we are loving every second of it.
Then one night we realised that it was just wow we loved but each other, I had never felt like this about another man but he felt the same way and we both realised just how we had been hiding our homosexuality.
We become lovers in wow and in life on that night and every night since has truly been amazing. So thanks wow for giving me something else to enjoy while I continue to play the greatest game ever made
