r/movies mods removing ANY and ALL posts about Oliver Stone and/or Jason Momoa's rape joke
38 2017-10-14 by ooshdau
I usually keep an eye on the new and rising tabs of subs I've frequent and noticed Jason Momoa's name popping up the last few days along with Oliver Stone today on /r/movies. I've been saving these posts and also checking back in new/rising tabs to find they all get removed within an hour tops.
So I posted this just now which was deleted within seconds:
"It would be nice to have a discussion about a more systematic problem that seems inherent to Hollywood. I've been watching and this sub is deleting articles left and right. Anyways here's Jason Momoa's rape joke from 2011:
“AS FAR as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that genre because there are so many things you can do, like rip someone’s tongue out of their throat and get away with it and rape beautiful women"
Oliver Stone is also getting called today out for touching a chick's boob in the early 90s. Now, am I saying that it's particularly important to focus on shit from years ago? Not really. But I do think its an okay time for people to start opening up about being assaulted. Sometimes when you are a victim it is easier to come forward when other people are doing the same (solidarity). I have no idea why this sub would be against that, and having a discussion about the darker side of Hollywood. Yet these posts are being removed by the mods, as will this one. Just a heads up"

Western society isn't going to stop until they finally find an actual demon they can fight. Unfortunately, fighting a demon is a lot less fun than making pissy tweets toward an imaginary one.

Jason Momoa made possibly the least offensive 'rape joke' six years ago, this is clearly the same as the Weinstein case.

I mean who cares, you should look at it like an opportunity

Jesus there's a lot of DC fanboys on here. Did you even read what I posted? The comment isn't the issue. It's a matter of having a discussion about someone you might be a fan of. There's a good chance the dude has got some skeletons in the closet based on that comment alone btw.

I've seen probably 3 capeshit movies in my life. So I could care less about which capeshit team you root for.
Thats being said, you authoritarian thought police types are the modern version of Mccarthy era communist hunters.

You DO care?
You probably meant to say "Couldn't care less"

That comment is pretty much exactly what his GoT character Khal Drogo does in the series and books.

Good, that Momoa joke isn't worth a single tweet about, let alone a Reddit post.
That said, /movies mods are gay.

He was making a joke about his character's actions in the show.

The dude's character literally rapes Emilia Clarke's in near pornographic detail and for an almost uncomfortably long time in one of a few defining scenes that led to GoT being the most well known TV show of the modern era. Of course the guy's going to reference that, which showed around the time of the tweet.

The real question is "are they squashing Ben Affleck posts". That's the bigger name.
