Based on this study from just 2 years ago, 28.3 percent of characters with dialogue (out of 21,000 characters studied) were from non-white racial/ethnic groups, though such groups are nearly 40 percent of the U.S. population.
Accounting for socioeconomic factors that seems pretty solid to me.
