It started in India, but its major theological development was mostly in China. Saying that Buddhism is Indian is like saying that Christianity is Israeli.
Sure, but most of the Buddhist theological development was done in India. Chan buddhism and Zen buddhism aren't, but it's undeniable that it's an Indian religion.
And calling Christianity a Palestine religion is completely accurate, just as calling Islam an Arabian (but not a Saudi-Arabian) religion is accurate.
China cant become dominant like the USA because its hard as fuck to learn mandarin. The USA has the advantage that english was already spoken by former british colonial possessions, and its just vastly easier to learn english than chinese for native speakers of other euro languages.
Consider that in Japan and Korea they teach kids english starting at age 5, but they dont learn chinese even though it shares hanja characters and loanwords.
You know, language is really limiting, I can see a bit of retardation here, but I can only imagine the shit that I'd see on the Chinese equivalent to /r/The_Donald. I'd imagine that communism and retardation don't give a great result.

-Soulless society
-Total lack of culture due to Mao "Lmao birds please come back oh God" Tse Tung
-On an economic bubble
-Traditional religions being displaced by Christianity of all things
I dunno, really. It seems they went straight to the decline phase like the West, without the Golden age in between.

The reason of lack of culture is not due to Mao "Lmao birds please come back oh God" Tse Tung, but to Mao "Make me the new Golden God" Ze Dong.
Or, in non retard speak, it's due to the Cultural Revolution rather than to the Great Leap Forward.

Yeah i know but i couldn't come up with a cultural joke in the 5 seconds that i bothered, so i went with that instead.

Yeah, it's sad that it isn't Buddhism but at least it's not Islam.
1 weniscommander 2017-10-19
Pretty sure there are millions of Muslims in China, especially by the Central Asian border.
1 ThenTheGorursArrived 2017-10-19
Yeah but they always were Muslims, they didn't convert. It's basically East Turkestan, the Chinks colonized them.
Meanwhile, in mayo countries, people are actually converting en masse to Islam. The horror!

I think that's the proper spelling

Is China seriously embracing a mayo religion, despite already being the home for three major religions?
1 Ultrashitpost 2017-10-19
Buddhism comes from India
