For real though Frankfurt is a shithole. I went there when I was interrailing and the hostel I stayed in which was about 200m from the main train station and 50m from the huge financial skyscrapers was immediately next to a methadone clinic. It was surreal to be in this nice, fancy hostel surrounded by skyscrapers and be watching junkies shooting up in the street outside, I guess that's why the hostel was cheaper than expected.
