After you have a kid, you're going to take maternity leave, right? It seems like you really want kids, so I assume you're going to want to take care of them, which means you won't be working. You should be really financially stable before having a kid.

The only actual difference between unmarried and married here is that you have kids. Your phrasing "they are adorable and beautiful and funny and smart and you just love on them all the time" makes me think that you should get a dog or cat or something, not a kid. What if your kid turns out disabled, autistic, has severe birth defects, or turns out to be an /r/drama poster? You're going to be devastated because you're basically pinning all your hopes on this.
