I work with unreleased products everyday and the company I work for has always been very clear about what happens to people who violate NDAs. Some serious stupid is going on in that family.

We like to think the world is just. That you can't be fired for a silly little mistake, it has to be the result of an absolutely colossal fuck-up. Her dad wasn't the victim of bad luck, he must be a complete moron for letting his phone be seen. The fact that a boring video about an already-announced product went viral wasn't bad luck, it was the result of a moronic father and an even more moronic daughter. Right? It can't just be bad luck, it's not other parents in the Mac Cafe weren't showing their kids new products, and these kids weren't leaking secrets on social media. It must have been fair for her dad to be the one who got fired. Right? Life's fair, right?
