I'm as critical of much of what he did as the next person, but lets not downplay what he was up against. The reason the republicans are fractured during the election is because a shared hatred of obama was the only thing keeping them together. Their mantra during his administration was "don't let him pass anything, then complain about how he does nothing", and they did their damnedest to just make it as hard as possible for him to legislate.
We can argue about the HCRA, but its not like the current situation is any better. Let's be honest, health insurance was a shitshow for the self employed and other folks a few years back with insane premiums, massive "pre-existing condition" loopholes, and other malarky.
As for that trade deal, he actually did an impressive job checking China's influence and gathering together asian countries to form an opposing economic bloc against China. There is actually a good thread on /r/Games about chinese IP theft. Like any big bill, TPP got loaded down with BS, but it was a serious attempt to stop china from wholesale copying patented innovations from other nations.
So, we can just autoshit on him for being liberal, or actually look at his goals and methods.
