This reminds me of something I saw first hand. My city has a large Jewish population so they have an infamous Jewish neighborhood watch called the Shomrim (they're found in many cities, they're even being investigated by the FBI for Jewry).
I saw a commotion in the middle of the street, two SUVs were blocking off a street and had lights flashing which made me think they were police at first (I don't even know if that's legal), as I got closer, I saw that they were actually Shomrim (you could tell because they were in full Orthodox Jew garb with walkie-talkies).
There was a minivan behind the the two SUVs, and a couple of Shomrim were holding a middle schooler between the cars. He was trying to get out and kept saying "let me go", they just said "we're not holding you" but kept holding him against the car and pushing him back when he tried to get out for about 15 minutes, in the meantime another fucking SUV comes to block the road (keep in mind these people have no legal authority). There are probably like 10 people watching all of this go down, eventually the kid manages to slip under one of their arms and get away. They couldn't even illegally detain a child correctly.
I don't know what the kid was being held for, I tried to find information on it, but I doubt anyone wrote about it.
