This is an actual thing btw that I've come across irl. Many people from the Horn of Africa/East Africa believe themselves to be superior to the "Bantus" of mainland Africa because they look a little different and their hair a "slightly less curly".
It's mostly reactionary though since many retarded African-Americans with zero knowledge of African history start claiming everything in Africa as "OUR HISTORY". East Africans overcompensate by trying to distance themselves from those "ugly Bantus" as much as possible.

The same is true for asia, where being a little fairer is seen as superior, look at bollywood and an average Indian, fairness cream is a billion dollar industry here.
