I think she is legitimately mentally ill, judging by her shit grammar/punctuation and complete inability to understand that offering a bribe over Twitter might be a bad idea.
She's rich though, the harshest she'll get is a fine if even investigated or prosecuted.
Which is the whole problem with making bribery illegal. It goes against American values, since only rich people have the money to bribe, so eventually it will end up with the rich being treated like commoners in a court of law.
Well, it would be really hard to prove that she was serious since she did it over Twitter and is a "comedian." She would have had to make a much more substantial effort in order to ruin a "I was joking" defense. No way any prosecutor takes something as silly as this on.
I mean look what she said in her first interview a year after daddy won the election:
“It’s taken a year for me to get my equilibrium back, to come back up to the surface, to really go, ‘OK, every Monday is the hope that this is the last week’ — and every Friday is a devastation. There are people who tell me, ‘Oh it’s going to be another year, another two years,’ and I seriously worry whether I personally will be able to live through [his presidency] and whether the nation will be able to live through it and survive,” she continued. “It’s a terrifying concept, on the brink of nuclear war with a madman in charge. And the ineptitude — the impotence of people who should be able to stop him claiming they can’t — is absolutely infuriating.”
Sorry kids. I think one of the requirements for a conviction for bribery is that the alleged briber must have the capability and intent to complete the bribe. And I think we all know Rosie doesn't have that kind of money anymore.
She has the capability, google says still worth ~$100mil. Plus, it's not like saying 'well I only had $10!' would be a defense at all. Making the offer is sufficient, whether or not you could follow through.
You mean, if I think she meant it? Because if she meant it (yeah, proving intent is different, no shit), this is as clear cut as you can get without saying 'I want to bribe you.'
1) Directly, 2) offers or promises, 3) anything of value to, 4) any public official with, 5) intent to influence any official act.
Those are the elements here, and 4 out of 5 are met by the tweet. You'd just need to prove intent.
People and companies donate to political campaigns because they want them to pursue their interests, and if they find that they're not, they don't. They don't give money directly to politicians to vote a certain way on a bill, that's just fucking stupid.
So you don't think people should be able to contribute to campaigns? That's very interesting, tell me more. I'm sure you've thought this through, deeply.
No single entity can do that currently - more often than not, when someone is describing how much was donated to a campaign from a company they're saying the employees of that company collectively gave that much, while no single person went over the 2,700 limit for that given cycle. (Which I think is pretty dishonest and seems to trick idiots).
Sometimes they lump in PAC money, but that's not cut and dry at all. If some guy wants to buy airtime to rant about Trump I think that should be perfectly legal, if some group of people want to get together to do the same thing, I don't functionally see how that's different.
It's already illegal for them to coordinate with the campaign - we should start by enforcing those rules before we go making rules about political speech the current administration (any admin, not just this one) gets to enforce. That seems... not smart.
The tax bill that's apparently going to kill us all. I think it's funny that every bill the GOP tries to pass is literally going to murder Americans according to leftoids

You comment in /r/drama, therefore you are also likely fat, overrated, and mentally ill.
I mean - post bussy.

1 pizzashill 2017-12-21
Yeah, this is America, we do our bribes behind closed doors. And the fact she thinks 2 million is enough makes me giggle.
The rich have been fishing for a tax cut for a long time, and Donald "man of the people" Trump helped them out.

I’ve got attempt to bribe government officials (2 counts), and attempt to do it across state lines so possible mail fraud (2 counts).

But now she's saying it was sarcasm/she didn't mean it/well DONORS DO IT TOO
lmao
1 Sober_Sloth 2017-12-21
You're actually developmentally disabled if you think this constitutes a bribe.

So what you're saying is she'll be in prison right after Clinton?
I love watching you retards work yourself into a frenzy.
1 Joe_Bruin 2017-12-21
What? How does this relate to Clinton? I said:
I just think she's a retard, and rich celebrities tweeting stupid things like this aren't going to land them in serious, real-world consequences.
Don't try to change the subject and go off on a tangent just because you're too dumb to understand what constitutes a bribe or offer.
1 Sober_Sloth 2017-12-21
Are you trying to say you aren't spazzing and agenda posting over this in drama? Look at this thread bud.
1 Ranilen 2017-12-21
You're not wrong. I mean, here's a former federal prosecutor's take on it.
1 Sober_Sloth 2017-12-21
Yeah but this sub loves to agenda post about her so it doesn't really matter. Meanwhile this guy is LARPING as a lawyer.

far be it from me to think all types of bribery are still bribery
for some reason i thought politicians were supposed to represent the interests of all their constituents, not just the ones that pay them
1 elsiedeez 2017-12-21
So you don't think people should be able to contribute to campaigns? That's very interesting, tell me more. I'm sure you've thought this through, deeply.

i genuinely think a single entity should not be able to donate more than a couple thousand to a campaign
the moment the disadvantaged dont have a say in our country is the moment our democracy has definitively failed
