Let me lay my cards on the table and tell you why drama is trash compared to SRD:
SRD actually enforces a modicum of decorum. Keeps the trash out, so of course said trash hates that. Muh freeze peaches and all that.
SRD doesn't allow user pings, thus preventing the pile-ups that drama likes to pass off as reasoned debate
drama is really trash, as per this thread shows. They are what happens when you remove any sort of accepted morality from SRS.

It makes me sad that there are people out there who are filled with hate. If only they were part of a community such as this, then maybe they would be more accepting and open to an inclusive and diverse community such as /r/drama, and wouldn't be as transphobic, and wouldn't try to minimize trans and minority voices.

Which is and has been an unofficial SRD policy for quite a while now, for your information. You probably didn't know, because when someone is banned and all their comments deleted, obviously you can't see and they can't tell you about this bullshit, hard to blame you for not being a psychic.
But that leads to you completely misrepresenting the situation anyway: it's not them retreating to their safe space because they are "afraid to say it to your face", it's them saying it here because they are permabanned from your safe space.
