I am not sure which is more cringey, the litany of erroneous assumptions you splayed out or the act of calling upon the student archetype with the intent of derision. Anti-intellectualism, check. src
“Each mark on the ruler has a different name: There’s 5/16, 7/8, 3/4 and so on, whereas with a decimal it’s just one-two-three-four-five, all the way up to 10. You can’t go wrong. As long as you can count to 10, you’ve mastered it.”
I mean, sure, rational numbers exist and they can’t all be represented by terminating decimal numbers. But unless we’re just gonna pretend that math works differently than it really does, you’re not gonna eliminate fractions.
My impression was that he had a problem with the representation of inches in standard rulers - in halves, quarters, eighths, etc. - with their varying denominators. Otherwise, decimal inches make no sense.

TLDR: We should all be using decimal inches instead.

Did this guy snort James Damore? Cause this is autism on autism.

Personally I found Damore da more compelling. At least he wasn't failing to notice the existence of the metric system...

This is James Damore fermented for 6 monthes and then distilled to 40% purity.

Didn’t someone already solve this problem and call it the SI units/metric system?
1 better_bot 2018-01-01
Yeah, but that's for commies. We're gonna use our American innovation to create an entirely new measurement system exclusive to us.

I don't think this is just about inches/centimeters, he seems to be against fractions as a whole. People still use fractions with the metric system.

IMO almost not at all (but with the Imperial system they do it almost all the time).

They're literally just division.
