Code monkeys do that. The proper thing to do is look through a multitude of answers to understand the problem domain, then apply the proper solution (which is sometimes a copy of an answer).

Linux is the foundation of Android and Google still contributes to the Linux project IIRC.

To begin with, Linux people have nothing to do with Linux's scarcity in the consumer PC market. Its scarcity is due to a combination of Linux's late start in terms of catering to usability for the casual user and Window's sheer momentum due to its early adoption within enterprise PCs and its offering of enterprise features such as Active Directory.

Second of all, who gives a fuck about the consumer PC market? Servers and smartphones are where the real money is at.

Your first point is true. I never said that autism was the only, or even a major part of why Linux has a low adoption rate for PCs. I'd also say another big reason is that it can be difficult for many less computer savvy people to use. The average person can't go hunt for drivers because their wifi won't work. This is a result of PC manufacturers not caring about Linux, but devs haven't done enough to make it much better.

Your second point is wrong though. Just because the consumer PC market has been dwarfed by the phone market doesn't mean there still isn't a shit load of money in the market. Have you ever tried to type a paper on your phone? You'd probably kill yourself before you finished.

Android is not a linux distro tho. It just has the linux kernel. It would be like saying that windows is linux because you can put GNU on it.
