Of course people are more than skin color. However, that's not the legal or cultural reality in the US, where people of color are treated worse and have been legislated against, disenfrachised and attacked during almost every conceivable period in US history. Working to understand the generational effects of those harms as they reverberate into the present does not make one a racist. Pretending that those historical and present dynamics of outright, systemic or institutional racism aren't real is what maintains racism.
It's ok to say systemic racism is bad but at the same time don't give a shit because all of the world has been a blight against minority groups regardless of country or ethnicity.

I have found that is those who are obsessed and preoccupied with race who are the racists....however, if a person has the stones to bandy that word about and label someone as such, you better have some air tight evidence in your favor to prove it, otherwise you're just a shit and have no intellectual heft other than to call names.
