Try to kill yourself again recently? Unless you think clinical studies are a conspiracy, saying "no one needs" any treatment is moronic. Are you an anti vaxxer too?
When a "treatment" is surrounded in so much controversy as ECT, yes I think the studies are bullshit. I'm sure there were lots of studies for lobotomies And insulin shock, too.
There was a time when lobotomies, insulin shock and hydrotherapy for fucks sake were psychiatric "treatments".
And the standards (in developed countries, don't quote me if you live in Somalia) for approving treatments (and then the rules for using them on specific individuals) are very different.
It's like saying we shouldn't do surgery today because some surgeries had a 10% survival rate if you go back a few decades.
The ECT protocols aren't even the same than at the time you refer to.
Lobotomies aren't done anymore (except to remove a very damaged part of the brain, like in life threatening cases of epilepsy, or after massive trauma).
So you're comparing things in the same way cults do (read Scientology propaganda, they use the same arguments you do).
Okay, and if you actually bothered to do the research I have, you'll find there is a very real conspiracy regarding ECT and a very real disinformation campaign to mislead people about it.
Let me guess, you have a penis? Because you're acting like a know it all prick about a subject you clearly don't know anything about. I've done the research, shit, I'm the one who got the treatment, obviously I think I'm a little more qualified to speak on it than you, so sit the fuck down, would you? :)
Because you're acting like a know it all prick about a subject you clearly don't know anything about.
Or a degree. That works too to be a "know it all" about something (compared to someone with a degree from "I watched a lot of conspiracy theorists on youtube university").

None of what you do is considered research by anyone not legally insane or retarded.
Ask my piece of shit ex fiance how his bitch ass jumped when I pulled a knife on him LMAO he contests this FACT, but even ECT wasn't enough to make me forget my most joyous memory OF ALL TIME. I might flick the bean to it later.
The story makes me look unstable, but basically we got into a stupid fight because I got a haircut after explicitly getting his approval and he turned into a little bitch about it. He tried to twist the situation into somehow being my fault because he couldn't be an adult and say, "hey, I would like it if you grew out your hair!" Even worse, he was being hypocritical because he used to shave his head against my wishes. Anyway, all of this BULLSHIT ENRAGED ME. I literally thought he was going to break up with me over a fucking haircut! My abandonment issues got triggered, so I... threatened to kill him, pulled out a knife and chased him up the basement stairs lol. I was locked in the psych ward for two weeks because of that. :(
No way, if he wasn't a little bitch, he would have pressed charges. Who tf doesn't press charges in this situation and takes me back? Lolwut. Obviously this guy is crazier than I am.

Obviously the (((man))) is conspiring to kill all women. You are a victim and don't let facts convince you otherwise.

You should try the Church of Scientology. They share your views of psychiatry.
1 jesussaurusrex 2018-01-15
I am unapologetically critical of psychiatry. Any sane person would be after the shit I've been through.
1 IAintThatGuy 2018-01-15
But if you're really insane, it's not like your opinions matter that much.
1 jesussaurusrex 2018-01-15
That's just like, your opinion, man.
1 IAintThatGuy 2018-01-15
But I agree it would be unethical and just plain wrong to give a sane person specific psychiatric treatments they do not need.
1 jesussaurusrex 2018-01-15
No one needs ECT.

Every psychiatric treatment is surrounded in controversy from crazy people who think they shouldn't ever have received it.

Don't ignore the rest of my comment. There was a time when lobotomies, insulin shock and hydrotherapy for fucks sake were psychiatric "treatments".

I ignore anything about that specific sentence, on every subject ever.

So, how crazy were you that you needed ECT?
1 OniTan 2018-01-15
Check her post history. She took a bunch of pills and alcohol.
1 scatmunchies 2018-01-15
Eh, that’s symptoms. I want to know what the underlying crazy is.
1 jesussaurusrex 2018-01-15
I am diagnosed with bipolar disorder type 1 with psychotic features, borderline personality disorder and PTSD.
1 jesussaurusrex 2018-01-15
Dangerously insane, obviously.
1 scatmunchies 2018-01-15
Presumably only to yourself. Which still isn’t a good thing, right?

Why'd you do that?

Do you recognize that hospitalization after an event like this was a reasonable thing to do?

You'd have to be really hot and a really good lay for me to write that off as some sort of BDSM play.
1 OniTan 2018-01-15
At least you always have a good attitude.
1 jesussaurusrex 2018-01-15
I have borderline personality disorder and this attention fuels me, dare I say, it enables me. :)
1 OniTan 2018-01-15
I bet you'll get a lot of attention if you take up stripping or porn.
