A "leftcom" is basically another word for tankie.
It's short for "left-communism", which apparently is a 'real' ideology.
It's basically tankies that do nothing expect read unreadable 18th century texts then bitch at others for not being ideology pure enough.
And God forbid if you ever actually help others, that's "reactionary".
Basically, they think some Marxist messiah will come, eventually.
Marxists who actually read Marx and don't ally with the left wing of capital.
Tankies/Demsocs/Anarchists like to bitch at leftcoms because they wrap up their entire identity into being "socialist" so when they get called capitalist its a real cutting blow.
Honestly, a couple of them make decent points. What we saw after the crash, where allegedly left-wing governments got power and then immediately sold out to the bankers has basically gutted support for Democratic reforms on the left.
As I have said many times, the reason why we keep seeing so many extremists all across the board lately, is because the center failed in 2007 and hasn't managed to get its shit together in any significant way since. Even the standard left and right are discredited in the eyes of many.
Can some one give me the rundown on Special K? I thought for months that he was an anarchist, maybe doing a PhD paper or something I recall? I remember some drivel about a "gift based economy" And now he's making memes that suggest that pragmatism is a positive ideal, which to me would mean that he's given up on that whole thing?

He's ostensibly an ancom currently enrolled in a PhD program. Whether or not either of those are true is a topic of frequent debate.
I'm not sure if he's fully on board the DSA train at this point, but he seems to at least consider them better allies to his agenda than the leftcoms.
