Serious posting for a second here, the majority of that shit was not art. It was interesting and looked aesthetically pleasing, but if we are looking at some sort of social, political, etc. commentary here it offered little.

tl;dr Women are shit at art.

Real talk, just between us girls, its really hard to even define art.

Some people think it involves an intrinsic value. Others feel it is an exhaltation of humanity or consciousness, blah blah blaahhhh

Still, in my opinion, art is defined as causing a reaction in the observer. Not like a punch to the face or anything, but to make someone go hmm or think or whatever.

As much as I think that rupaul makeup shut isnt a "talent" or "lifeskill", I guess it falls under art.

But what do I know.

I recognize that the lines are very blurry in terms of what we regard as art. I am not saying that there isn't amazing technique and beautiful looking things that come out of the make-up world, nor that you can't make charged statements through make-up, just that I think these specific things aren't anything more than people making pleasant looking things.

And straight-up, the stuff that happens on Rupaul's Drag Race is fucking amazing sometimes.

In my drunk logic and critique, I am trying to connect groups that may not actually be connected; I imagine there are people that would see these make-up designs and elevate them to a level higher than people drawing some blatantly sexualized shit that should for all intents and purposes be on the same level.
