This is a nice post and all, but I'm guessing that the only reason anyone is even arguing about this because these people believe 3D is superior to 2D.
I’ve seen this before on another social platform. They would shadow ban shitty users so others wouldn’t see their comments and they just thought no one was responding to their comments.
If they really wanted to have fun, they should have shadowbans MMO. As in, if you are shadowbanned that way then you are planeshifted to the Shadow Reddit where in addition to usual content you can see comments of other shadowbanned users (mostly spammers ofc). Also specifically add ghost users that encouragingly (or sometimes not) comment on comments and posts made by shadowbanned users.
The official explanation would be that this is just the obvious next step in making spammers believe that they are not really banned. But of course it's going to wreeeeeeeck the mentally ill!

Approving admin-deleted comments. Just when I thought they couldn't be any stupider.🤦♀

So reddit admins are shadowbanning the mentally ill and not explaining why, driving them further into paranoid delusion.
Nice.

But this is how reddit shadowbans work.
1 HodorTheDoorHolder 2018-02-12

I think Something Awful wanted to do that back in the day but couldn't because SA's only forum coder was a sperg and Lowtax a cheap Jew.

That sounds suspiciously like what a spam filter would do.
