/r/CBTS_Stream is filled with a very diverse group of people and comment threads like that one indicate that they are more capable than almost any other subreddit of discussing a topic like drug enforcement and how race and class interact with it. Does /r/TopMindsOfReddit ever discuss anything that heady? Can you think of any other subreddit that would handle that topic as well?
Of course a lot of it is looney tunes madness and the rightful concern that Israeli interests impact American politics gets exaggerated and pounced on by racists, but /r/CBTS_Stream isn't one tin foiled hat guy who you can characterize simply.
/r/CBTS_Stream users are not much different from /r/TopMindsOfReddit users except that they are more likely to have their "authoritarian/libertarian" bit set to libertarian. They attract a lot of kooks as a result, but I wager if you dig deep into the /r/TopMindsOfReddit member base, there will be a number of folks you wouldn't exactly be proud of.
So, why does /r/CBTS_Stream like Q? Because they aren't much different than any other group of redditors. They aren't Doc Brown looking old men with tin foil fedoras cursing the Jews. I'll aqmit that if Doc Brown wore a tin foil fedora and cursed the Jews, he'd probably be on /r/CBTS_Stream, but mostly they are just young bucks with a world view that they are trying to squeeze all the facts into.
Everything is a conspiracy in /r/CBTS_Stream . That's the way it's supposed to be, though. If you don't like gossip about a particular celebrity, you don't look for that celebrity in Gawker. Likewise, if you aren't a "jet fuel can't melt steel beams" type, maybe you ignore /r/CBTS_Stream for that thread.
