I know many, many coders. Hell, my brother is a code monkey as well as my uncle. NONE of them make "high six figures". And when I say "high six figures" I'm talking 500k+. It just doesn't happen. And it especially doesn't happen when you've been in the career field for less than two years, regardless of your degree.

I've worked in IT for 19 years, work in a very niche field, to the point that overseas companies have attempted to recruit me. To be clear, I did not apply for a job, they found me and tried to get me to move overseas to work for them. I'm very good at what I do, I have a very good reputation for being good at what I do, and I'm pullin' down 156k, which is considerably more than my code monkey friends.

No one, especially people in IT, would buy that you're making "high six figures" 2 years after entering a career, ANY career. You haven't put in your dues. Stop embarrassing yourself.
