ICE comes to town and California goes nuts. Remember kids: when Uncle Sam wants in, let him in. State law means nothing.

Quick background on this one.

AB450 is a bill that took effect this year in CA. It says employees can be liable for letting the feds into the back, unless the feds have a warrant.

What the clueless intern who wrote this feel good bill probably didn’t know is that I-9 sweeps are a thing, upheld by the courts as a form of compliance check (administrative search), and refusing to comply is a federal crime.

So if ICE shows up and says it’s I-9 time and you refuse, jail. California says if you agree, jail. /r/California is now discovering businesses will take State prosecution over the feds and are not happy to discover the noble businesses won’t fall on a sword for the beloved illegals.

Shouldn't republicans be all defending California? Because they been svreaming about state's rights fpr a while now.

You’re confusing Republicans with conservatives. And even then states rights are limited to Supremacy Clause and 14th amendment equality limitations.

Shouldn't Democrats be using slaves for agricultural labor?

Oh wait, they are!

National Review has been running a series covering/defending this

Wrong.

SEC. 2. Section 7285.2 is added to the Government Code, to read:

7285.2. (a) (1) Except as otherwise required by federal law, and except as provided in paragraph (2), an employer, or a person acting on behalf of the employer, shall not provide voluntary consent to an immigration enforcement agent to access, review, or obtain the employer’s employee records without a subpoena or judicial warrant. This section does not prohibit an employer, or person acting on behalf of an employer, from challenging the validity of a subpoena or judicial warrant in a federal district court.

(2) This subdivision shall not apply to I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification forms and other documents for which a Notice of Inspection has been provided to the employer.

Of course /u/recallrethuglicans is in there as chief ambassador of the retarded resistance.

I honestly can’t tell if troll or actual retard.

Delete this. I like how thoroughly California upvotes him when he posts. Let’s not blow the cover.

Troll. Admitted it in an old /r/Drama post, but deleted the comment later. I have him/her tagged.

Well then delete this. Let’s not blow covers.

Yeah, I guess.

Wtf I love states rights now.

What happens when an illegal immigrant buys an AR-15 RPG launcher through the ((GUN SHOW LOOPHOLE)) ?

Do we enter some kind of singularity where the illegal is both protected from the federal govt but at the same time liable for every gun death in America?

Could someone please think of the children?

Hey hey this is easily fixed. They just do check on his melanin levels see if he is qualified for a police brutality.

Okay but what if he identifies as a female, can’t have the cops beating the bussy.

They get off because it was an accident and they're the victim of implied systemic racism.

But who will work the taco trucks?

Won't you think of the tacos?

Omg can we deport every last fucking taco truck? I’m fucking tired of them and people in LA ramble on about how great it is to have a mobile eatery. All I care about is two of them take up valuable parking space outside my building and attract a horde of ... unclean people (the poors & progressives). For being mobile they seem to come to the exact same spot day after day.

Down the street from my office is a building with a large parking lot on the street side of the building. As the taco truck craze was ramping up a taco truck appeared in the corner of that lot.

Really a perfect location, right at an intersection, truck angled for all to see the menu on the side while sitting at the light. They had to get picnic tables (plural) setup around the truck to accommodate the crowds.

So I'm driving by one day and the truck is gone. Everything is gone. I drive by a few days later and that section of the parking lot has been removed and construction of a building is starting.

A few months later a brand new Del Taco is open for business.

Pfff, inferior tacos made inside of an immobile building.

Disliking taco trucks is intensely unamerican. Deport yourself.

Resigning as a mod because some admins hurt your feelings is unAmerican. Kindly deport yourself first.

my precious feefees

We miss you 😢

I'm still around! Being a mod of r/drama was just being a distinguished shitposter who could greenhat their own terrible comments. But now we're actually expected to do work, which goes against the r/drama mod codex.

You have a codex? What the hell is wrong with you people. I thought you just sit in a circle and grunt at each other. Codex implies reading. Which we know half the mod team can’t do.

It's a coloring book, don't worry.

Oh thank god. And I’m sure they can always reach out to the Marine’s sub for tips on how to use those coloring books. The professional crayon eaters know a thing or two. Max two.

How much crossover is there between r/drama mods and r/4chan mods? Is it 100%? 3,000%?!

uh I think the only crossover was lilp and assy when he was a mod.

weird, well, you're all wonderful animals to me.

aw, thank you so much.

Democrats take their next great step to literally becoming the 1990 republican party.

Since when did it become canon among liberals that any enforcement of immigration laws is unethical?

I love how the linked dude thinks employers are going to kick up some huge fuss with ICE agents to protect illegal workers. That's fucking nuts and would never happen.

this, but unironically
