"A MAGA hat is the perfect sun & fashion conscious choice for the aspie-ring school shooter on the go. The words MAGA say 'I'm autistic and have no hope of sex' while the color red signifies 'I'm probably going to shoot you in the back as you run screaming from me- YOLO'"

I am not sure which is more cringey, the litany of erroneous assumptions you splayed out or the act of calling upon the student archetype with the intent of derision. Anti-intellectualism, check. src

The fact nobody did anything about this retard is absurd. The kid is literally walking around his backyard in his underwear and a MAGA hat shooting shit.
This didn't seem weird to anyone?

Found the fucking communist
1 jubbergun 2018-02-18
P-shilly isn't a filthy commie, he's just contrary and weird.

It was just a normal tuesday in white america
1 boyoyoyoyong 2018-02-18
They called the cops and FBI a bunch, I guess they had better things to do
1 pizzashill 2018-02-18
Yeah, no. the problem is they can't do anything because even crazy people have rights.
It's like if I go to the police and say "this guy is going to try to kill me" I can't get protective custody without an absurd amount of evidence.
1 jubbergun 2018-02-18
This might sound weird, but I'm pretty sure people having rights isn't something that should be described as "a/the problem."
1 pizzashill 2018-02-18
It's a problem when those rights endanger everyone else. My aunt, for example, is hilariously mentally ill. She hears "voices" and often claims god is telling her to "purge" certain people she doesn't like.
This bitch was able to buy a gun. She'd have that gun if the rest of the family didn't intervene and take it.
I'm all for rights - but there has to be some fucking limit dude.
1 jubbergun 2018-02-18
Then you follow the legal due process necessary to deprive her, any other crazy person, or violent criminals of their rights. Yes, it's a difficult process. It's designed that way on purpose so that vulnerable people aren't taken advantage of by unscrupulous relatives, corrupt authorities, and/or errors of the legal system.
If you describe rights as "a/the problem" it's pretty hard to believe you're all for them. There are limits to people's rights already. "Your rights end where my nose begins," is the old saying, isn't it? Additional limits can be imposed, as you already know because...
As it should have been. Depriving a person of their rights isn't a matter to be taken lightly. That's why there is a very serious legal process involved.
1 pizzashill 2018-02-18
Your rights end when other people are in danger.
If you are nuts, you deserve no access to firearms, period.
1 jubbergun 2018-02-18
As the older generations die off and the younger generations age, what actually happens is that the bulk of the younger generation gain the wisdom and experience necessary to realize that the older generation was right and things weren't so simple as they believed. People like you have been saying "once the old people die off and we take over it will all be different" for hundreds of years, and while things have changed, they have changed very slowly.
1 pizzashill 2018-02-18
Yeah, you're repeating conservative fan-fiction my man.
1 jubbergun 2018-02-18
I'm pointing out reality, while you're making juvenile insults and referencing The Onion.
1 stevemisor 2018-02-18
You can't exactly arrest someone till they do something
1 Time_to_Drink 2018-02-18
Til: terrorist plots are never foiled
1 stevemisor 2018-02-18
Well they have usually broken many laws by that point
1 Awayfone 2018-02-18
What illrgal activity was he fpong before the shooting?
1 Time_to_Drink 2018-02-18
U spel reel gud
1 Awayfone 2018-02-18
Thank you, i try real hard
1 Time_to_Drink 2018-02-18
You won me over sweetie. In most other places in the world if you were out in public wildly waving a gun around you would probably be breaking some laws. I think the fact that in America many would argue that there is nothing wrong in such a situation is why you have a problem.
1 Namenamenamenamena 2018-02-18
It was BB gun. Probably plastic bbs too since it's not specified to be metal.
1 SWIMsfriend 2018-02-18
Unless you're black, then they will arrest you for looking like the sort of person that would commit such a crime
1 jubbergun 2018-02-18
You can't arrest them, but you can do the ol' "hey guy, we know you're a few fries short of a Happy Meal and we're keeping an eye on you."
1 McFluffTheCrimeCat 2018-02-18
Well it wouldn't be anyone besides the Florida field office of the FBI or the local police that would have anything to do with this. Haven't seen anything that would have allowed either to long term psych hold him or jail him long term. What exactly would you like him to have been arrested for?
1 fingerpaintswithpoop 2018-02-18
He was cutting himself. That’s grounds for automatic involuntary commitment.
1 lickedTators 2018-02-18
Budget reasons probably.
1 McFluffTheCrimeCat 2018-02-18
Thanks for link. Since he was seeing a mental health counselor when DCF investigated I can see why they made the decision they did and that's not grounds for any long term commitment just a hold.

Seriouspost: self-harming without suicidal intent is not typically an indication for involuntary psychiatric admission on its own. It depends on the details. The more concerning thing is that, per the story you posted, he was talking about obtaining a gun while doing so; that’s suggestive of a serious risk of harm to self/others and escalation in behavior and at least warrants a psychiatric evaluation though in and of itself may not result in a “long-term” admission.
I’m not sure how things work in Florida, but in my state had someone called the police on Cruz and provided the information described in the story, there’s a near-100% chance he would’ve been arrested and brought to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation. After that, who knows what would’ve happened.
1 TheFatMistake 2018-02-18
We should just arrest anyone who is weird just to be safe.
1 jubbergun 2018-02-18
This subreddit would get boring quick. WTF would we do without /u/pizzashill?
1 EarnestNoMeta 2018-02-18
What do you mean? I do stuff like this all the time... 😤😤😤
1 Gtyyler 2018-02-18
Pizzaz, don't act like you've never been to a swing state.
1 pizzashill 2018-02-18
I live in Florida.
1 jaredschaffer27 2018-02-18
Everything is finally clear now.

If you ever visit America, and you're near the DC/Northern VA area let me know and I'll see if I can get my gun nut buddies to hook you up with some range time. You probably won't be allowed to shoot in your underwear, but you will get to go "pew pew," which is fun even if you're wearing pants.
1 DoctorFahrenheit 2018-02-18
It seems perfectly appropriate to me. This is America for fuck's sake.
1 jubbergun 2018-02-18
Um...he lived in FL. That's actually pretty close to normal behavior for that state, especially if you look like a character from a kids movie made by Robert Rodriguez, like this guy did.
1 oshnyve 2018-02-18
isn't that pretty much just the traditional Florida lifestyle
1 Karmaisforsuckers 2018-02-18
Bue he white tho
1 GoyaFrijoles 2018-02-18
Didn't this guy shoot like 17 white people? How is he not r/drama's messiah?
1 Time_to_Drink 2018-02-18
This but unironically
1 strathmeyer 2018-02-18
If I ever see a mass shooter, that's what I'm gonna shout!
