Totally not American's who LOVE their guns have invaded r/Australia and are totally not sharing NRA talking points about why FREEDOM to murder defenceless teenagers is better than gun control. 4000 comments and counting....there isn't even 4000 people in the whole of Australia, SMH.

I have never heard of a mass shooting committed with an assault rifle, only with semi-automatic rifles.

I love that gun folk absolutely refuse to accept that the common definition of a phrase can differ from the technical definition. You can count on a comment like this appearing in every thread on the subject.

Keep fighting the worthless fight, guys!

It's even more retarded because those semi-automatic rifles aren't that different than the ones you'd see in combat.

It's not like soldiers are spraying in war zones, almost always it's semi-auto. A buddy of mine was actually deployed in Iraq and I asked him this very question and he straight up told me he'd never fire auto.

So this constant meme from gun-tards saying "IT'S NOT AN ASSAULT RIFLE XD" is getting really fucking old.

Are you implying most people in the military aren't using 3 or 5 round burst? If so you are literally retarded, and have never seen a single military engagement. If your buddy set his selector to semi-auto he's also an idiot.

I was curious here, so I looked this up again.

I've never used the automatic setting for my issued M4A1. When clearing rooms, I put at least a controlled pair into each target while in the semi-automatic setting. The semi-automatic setting is plenty fast, and I have total control of the weapon while on that setting. I believe I can do equally well while on the automatic setting; I've just never trained to do that, so I don't. It's also easier to switch the selector once from safe to semi than twice to automatic. I know some high speed units train to clear rooms with the selector already on semi or automatic, but my unit isn't on that level.

Fucking christ, a door kicker who goes into an engagement with his safety on. I don't want to believe this is real. That said, the M4A1 doesn't even have a burst setting on the selector, unlike the M4, so it's less surprising there. AFAIK standard practice even without it is short, controlled bursts in full auto though. I've never heard of an inf guy using semi in close quarters.

Look, it might be fake, I don't know, but I have multiple friends that have deployed, very competent friends, and they all seem to say they prefer/used semi-auto.

Of course gun control works in Australia, they don't have to deal with nearly half their population being niggers and spics.

Can abbos even aim a gun after huffing gasoline all day?

While I don't like the NRA I don't have much sympathy for r australia, after the shenanigans they have pulled regarding gun control in the past.

Drama is super serious, isn't it newfriend?

🤔

There's also posters in /r/Canada who regularly say "President Trudeau"

Suuure, you're totally Canadian.
