I met one of my closer friends a few years ago. Seemed like a perfectly normal dude, average job, regular interests, had his head on his shoulders. History of very mild depression, but treated well.
Definitely a weird thing when a few months ago for like, two hours, he starts talking like an anime girl and insists that [his name] isn't present. He said it was the first time she'd taken over and that he'd been cultivating her for over five years.
I'd say it's different because they're crazy and think they're actually the other personality too, but some method actors are also crazy so there's even less of a distinction.
