my local pizza hut is complete shit, the dough is always soggy and tastes like grease, the toppings are usually undercooked and half the time the cheese isn't even melted. the local domino's completely blows it out of the water quality wise.

dominos completely redid its food system almost a decade ago now, and went from near the bottom of chain pizzerias to near the top

Whenever I see people say this, it makes me wonder what chain they think is better, because no one ever seems to say.

I live in a major metropolitan area, and they are by far the best big chain pizza available. I'm not saying they're great pizza or stand up to local chains, but they beat the shit out of Pizza Pizza and Dominos.

Yeah, pretty much any chain pizza is gonna be the same low-tier quality, but for what it is I take pizza hut over Dominos/Papa John's any day

Why not just buy/make some frozen pizza? Thats what I do nowadays. At least the quality is consistent unlike my Dominos and local pizza place

Safeway's generic brand pizzas are better than Domino's in my opinion. Take less time to make, and a quarter of the price.

Well, I’m glad we don’t have it here.

I worked at Pizza Hut. The dough was frozen and sauce came in bags. We would proof the dough, stamp it down, and sauce and fresh toppings. It’s not like pizzas came preassembled like digornos.

Most people I know who have worked in fast food won't eat at that restaurant any longer.

I feel like I've seen 2 or 3 different "fast food workers of reddit tell me your horror stories" threads where most of the "horror stories" were just kids who've never cooked for themselves finding out what food is. Like, "the chicken pot pies are made from yesterday's scraps! The salad dressing is nothing but sugar and fat!!", that kind of thing.

That's pretty typical since most fast food workers are in high school or just out of high school.

I worked at Lil Caesars in high school. It was clean and good. Would eat now.

My wife worked at Arby's in high school. We still eat there from time to time.

Yep, I was a cook at one in high school. They didn’t come premade and someone actually did “hand craft” every pizza...but I also haven’t eaten there since.

Whenever they put me on boxing duty(cutting the pizzas and boxing for delivery) I would always just cut deep enough to go through the cheese but not the dough, so customers always got one giant ass piece.

Hated that job, even a shower after work couldn’t get the smell out of your nose.

my buddy used to manage a pizza hut when we were like 20 and you could go in and get bags off the drivers it was great

he had to make the dough though at like 5 am with the big kneading machine thatd break your arm if you put it in
