Paging /u/snallygaster, you want to see this.

Wow, this is something else. If more cult leaders follow in this guy's footsteps then cults are going to start scaling up to extreme degrees. It seems like they are already. There has to be something that the govt can do to reprimand these kinds of people.

Question is, do you want to be the guy leading the next cult, or the guy selling the book teaching people that THEY could lead the next cult if only they follow your easy guide and pay $99.99 for a personal tutoring session?

I wonder if there's a way to MLMify cult start-up sessions.

Every recruitment that you make downstream will get you another planet to be god of.

Do you really want the government involved? As it currently stands this is a free, voluntary means of population control and accelerated natural selection. Personally I say bring on the Kool Aid.

Just get them to break gun laws and send the ATF after them. They're pretty good at dealing with cults.

hehehe

Get the puppers out first.

My astrologer and I have a cosmic connection. He knows my uncanny history of running into dangerous, dysfunctional leaders and communities and exposing them. Immediately after I messaged him my body came over in complete chills. I laid on my bed and felt a cosmic download. My body was overwhelmed with tingles from head to toe. My body started to shake. I couldn’t move. I felt surges of power pulsing through me. I just knew. “I have to stop this guy” I told myself.

He suggested “Maya Honeypot.” I countered with “Shakti Kali Chai.” He added a “Latte” on the end to make it “Shakti Kali Chai Latte.” I didn’t settle on anything at the moment but the seed had been planted.

Power black tea latte? We are Mayo levels that shouldn't be possible.

My god, some people are really stupid.

This kind of thing seems like an inevitable outgrowth of the cults of personality around people like Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, etc. I'd guess we're going to see a lot more of this kind of thing.

Man what is it with people and being complete fucking rubes.

This guys just strings together a bunch of nonsense and people think he's fucking deep, and then he just siphons money and sex off them. And this has been happening for thousands of years! Like what in the actual fuck.

Sufficiently dumb people can't tell the difference between smart and complete word salad; it's all the same to them. Add in some credulity and wishful thinking and a reasonably intelligent psycho willing to abuse them and this is what you get.

I don't know what to do my parents believe this guy, they completely ignored the article and just said it was BS.

Its so awful he isn't just using random bullshit, hes using books worth of "legit" bullshit (e.g ancient spiritual enlightment, occult stuff, etc) that appeal to people already on this anti-critical thinking head trip. I don't know how to get my parents off this irrational guru binge if they can't even consider the possibility he is manipulating people. I don't know what to do.

I'm really not familiar with this particular cult, but what I can say is that all cults feed on loneliness, and eventually will try to isolate their members from society. It's up to sane people to maintain bridges to reality.

I realise this, but I do maintain contact, they just won't budge on the subject at all. All cults work the same, prop up mental defense incase of critical backlash is number 1 to me and my parents have that. Thankfully they have no money really so to Benny they are worthless.

Yeah, it sucks, but you won't change their mind with any amount of reasoning. There was a study in the news relatively recently that showed that reasoning people out of an opinion just makes them believe in it even more. Cult leaders usually overplay their hand at some point though, so you just have to keep an eye open for it.

It's probably a lot of things. But I think a big thing is just people not having communities or families to turn to. The pic of his session was mostly old lonely looming Boomers and those are the same ones jumping on shit like qanon.

Its weird when my really obscure interest in new age spirituality and my really obscurer interest in internet meta drama subs intersects. Im honestly shocked

Typical fucking millennials, back in the old days cult suicides (or at least that’s how the government made them look) were en masse and the inner workings were really interesting and unique.
