Well that's a first for me to be shared on a sub. I was wrong about quite a bit, while my information was wrong in several ways, I did learn much more. I see where people would come from in their stance on US nuking japan. My opinion stands against the action, but again, I now know much more on why people think that way. I was wrong in many ways, it isn't drama, just me being incorrect and stating as if I was correct. Pure ignorance for me, not drama.
So you learned a lot, but you still think that the lives of Japanese are worth more than the Chinese, Malayans, Filipinos, etc. who would have been killed if the war was prolonged? Why is that?
They were starving millions of people to death in China. Have you ever seen what malnutrition does to kids? I have and it seems pretty fucking wrong to me. I'm sorry, but I don't buy the argument that the US should have let lots of innocent kids in China starve to death so that a few innocent kids in Japan wouldn't get irradiated.
Sometimes the necessary evil is the only choice. For example, the invasion of Iraq was a necessary evil. Without an invasion, the US would be an entire generation of people who hadn't been in conventional warfare. What if we needed to fight a country today? Thankfully the US military has been in two wars for over 15 years so if the US needs to go to war today then the US military will be ready.
if the USA didn't nuke Japan then using nukes wouldn't have developed the stigma they have and nukes would have been used by someone else, possible, nay definitely on even America itself.

I think it's more the radiation. Japan, with help, did well rebuilding but that amount of radiation exposed to citisens just seems wrong to me.

we need more wild speculation
if the USA didn't nuke Japan then using nukes wouldn't have developed the stigma they have and nukes would have been used by someone else, possible, nay definitely on even America itself.

This, but unironically.

We could have used them on the damn commies and unified the world under glorious (but understated) capitalism for the good of mankind forever.

the cold war would have been the hot war but we used up the chance on japan instead.

The Soviets beat the Nazis because Germans are inherently weaker than the Russians.
Nuking Japan was necessary to win the war and for Fallout 4 to exist.

We do need our radioactive german shepherd friend

Nukes were the wrong choice because they helped create the culture that invented anime.

That was our greatest sin.

Either no nukes or many more. Two caused just enough mutation to make trouble.
